Stay in a villa rental during your Phuket Golf holiday

Stay in a villa rental during your Phuket Golf holiday

The modern age of the internet has changed the way we choose and organize our holidays. At Phuketgolf.net, we realize that you need a golf holiday in Phuket that suits your requirements, not just in terms of which courses you choose to play, but also the accommodation type that you desire.
At one time in the not too distant past, hotels and resorts were the standard accommodation types available to holidaymakers, however; the accommodation market is also rapidly changing before our eyes. Did you ever think about staying in a villa rental during your Phuket golf holiday?
Villa rentals have massively grown over the past 3 years with holidaymakers moving away from the standard hotel accommodation that was the cornerstone of the Thailand tourism market.
More people than ever before are choosing villa rentals instead of hotels due to a number of reasons that mainly include complete privacy and luxury. You can rent a villa with your golfing buddies and share your holiday experience together without the prying eyes of hundreds of strangers. Villa rentals have their own maids, swimming pools and most of the other features that a hotel provides, but the big difference is you and your traveling companions have the facilities all to yourselves.
We have two excellent golf villas for rent in the grounds of the Loch Palm Golf Club estate in Kathu. This is prime golf territory with Red Mountain Golf Club and Phuket Country Club also both nearby in Kathu. Patong with its beaches, hundreds of restaurants and nightlife zones is also just a 10-minute drive from the villas.

Best Golf Holiday Destinations in the World

Best Golf Holiday Destinations in the World

It's that time of the year when you are starting to think about your holiday escapades for 2014. Golf tours have become big business over the past decade, especially the past five years, and with golf still one of the fastest-growing participation sports in the world, it's only natural that the idea of a golf holiday will pop up in conversation with your mates over a couple of beers. Life is about living, experiencing new things and creating memories that last a lifetime. A golf holiday with your mates would certainly fulfill the above criteria.
Deciding where to go?
The modern world, with the aid of the internet, has become a very small place indeed. No longer do we go down to the local travel agent and book whatever they have in stock or suggest. Nowadays we can go anywhere at any time for a price that's right by organizing and booking our holidays online. The problem is that most of the world's major golf tour destinations have now become highly priced because the demand is so high.
You need a place that has a tropical environment, a great choice of courses, lots of things to see and do when you're not golfing and is still affordable and cost effective.
What about golf in Thailand?
I am sure that many of you already know that Thailand is one of the world's most popular holiday destinations. Phuket is a popular holiday island in southern Thailand, famous for its tropical beaches, fascinating culture, all-year-round warm temperatures, its hedonistic nightlife scene and being home to a bevy of beautiful sultry babes.
Did you also know that Phuket has some of the finest golf courses in Asia? I bet you didn't, but now you do!
Phuket is the same size as Singapore and has 9 golf courses of varying levels, an international airport, top quality infrastructure, some of the finest beachside resorts in the world and is still one of the most affordable places to holiday.
The Johnnie Walker Classic tournament, made famous by the likes of Tiger Woods and Freddie Couples, has been hosted by Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket a few times. This is one of the best courses in Asia.
There are so many courses and things to do in Phuket. So start making your 2014 dreams come true today by booking a Phuket golf holiday with one of the island's best golf agents. We can even book your accommodation and organize your transfers from the airport and to and from the courses. Our company is run by golfers for golfers. It doesn't get any better.

Phuket West Coast Beaches Part 2

Phuket West Coast Beaches  Part 2

Not everything is always about golf! I know, that's hard to imagine isn't it? Yesterday we wrote the first part of this blog about the best beaches on the west coast of Phuket. Today we are finishing off that list with two of the finest laidback beaches Phuket has to offer.
Kamala Beach
This beautiful stretch of sand is situated a ten minute drive north of Patong. Kamala is essentially a very peaceful area and the beach mirrors this fact. Besides being a great place for water sports, there is also a reef at the southern end of the beach that is ideal for snorkeling. Being so peaceful, this is a great beach to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist areas. With a nice selection of bars and restaurants nearby, you can have a drink or a spot of lunch directly on the beach. Overlooking Kamala Beach, you will see the excellent Rockfish Restaurant that serves a great selection of international cuisine. Kamala is also famous for the Phuket Fantasy Theme Park.
Surin Beach
Surin Beach is the true jewel of Phuket’s tourist industry. A full kilometer of powdery, white sand that is shaped by the sensationally colored sea, makes this beach stand out from all others, with chic restaurants and wine bars, shaded by enormous trees which keep the sun’s rays off for a brief period. It simply doesn’t get any better than this.
While Surin Beach is popular with tourists, it never gets over-crowded thankfully. There are just enough deck chairs and places to eat for everyone that knows of Surin. Looking out into the seemingly never-ending Andaman Sea is traditional Thai long-tail fishing boats gathering in their catch. Closer to shore are fantastic rock formations jutting out of the water. It’s these boulders which keep the buzz-buzz jet-skis to a minimum and means your days sunbathing remain unimpeded.

Phuket West Coast Beaches – Part 1

Phuket West Coast Beaches – Part 1

When the name Phuket is mentioned, it conjures up images of miles upon miles of scenic and sandy coasts lined with palm trees. Phuket is one of Asia's premier beachside destinations with a wide selection of beaches from the more commercialized ones at Patong and Kata, right down to the un-crowded and idyllic type at Nai Yang and Mai Khao. When you are not play golf on one of the island's best courses. There is nothing better than a relaxing day at the beach.
Patong Beach
Easily the most popular stretch of sand in Phuket, Patong Beach is roughly 3km long, scaling the entirety of Patong from north to south. This is a great place to hire a jet-ski, partake in watersports or just relax and take in the beautiful views looking out towards the crystal waters of the Andaman Ocean. A road runs parallel to the beach. This is where you will find lots of restaurants and fast-food joints, which mean that you are always within a one-minute walk of lots of eating and drinking options.
Karon Beach
Karon Beach is situated a ten minute drive south of Patong. This 4km long stretch of beautiful powdery sand is one of Phuket's longest and most scenic beaches. With a reputation for feeling un-crowded, even in the high season months, Karon Beach is the place you go to get away from the crowds of Patong Beach. Watersports aren't as prevalent here as they are on other beaches, but the atmosphere is tranquil and will give you that subtropical Phuket beach experience you have been longing. The beach stretches from the south side of Karon, all the way to Kata. In the low season months from May to October, be wary of the red flag situation because the undertones and riptides can be fatal.
Kata Yai Beach
This palm tree-lined beach is one of the island's quaintest. There are not so many beaches in Phuket as beautiful as Kata Beach. This is one of the best places for surfing, and you can hire the equipment you need from a selection of shops situated directly opposite of the south side of the beach. This picturesque bay looks out towards Koh Pu (Pu Island), which is a sight for sore eyes. This is the ideal family beach that also enjoys copious amounts of shade under the palm trees. You will find that many Thais enjoy visiting Kata Yai Beach because of the shade factor. Because the beach is quite small, it can seem quite crowded during the high season months, but nonetheless, this is a must visit beach. There are also a handful of shops and restaurants at the south end of the beach.

Golf in Thailand

Golf in Thailand

It was Winston Churchill who said, Golf spoils a good walk.? Obviously someone couldn't hit a solid 3-Iron. Golf is the sport of kings in my opinion. This is a sport where manners, etiquette and a civilized gentlemanly attitude still exists, unlike some other sports I won't mention cough cough football cough!
There is nothing like waking up in the morning, adorning your Pringle sweater and traversing the velvet green fairways on Mother Nature's back garden. For a long time, Asia was in the dark ages in golf terms, but over the past decade, the sport has risen like a phoenix from the flames in this part of the world. With Asian players such as Thongchai Jaidee, K.J. Choi and a host of young Japanese golfers becoming consistent performers on the PGA Tour, the sport has taken off big style in the region.
I have played golf on three continents, and have to say that there is nothing better than golf in Thailand, especially in Phuket and Pattaya. The amazing climate ensures that nearly every day of the year is prime golfing weather.
The second thing that puts Thailand golf ahead of the rest is the hospitality. Those who have played golf in Thailand will tell that the facilities at the major Thailand courses are breathtaking.
Phuket is approximately the same size as Singapore; however, on the island you will find 9 courses of all levels and styles from the more beginner inclined courses such as Phuket Country, to the Championship courses at Blue Canyon and Red Mountain.
In the Pattaya region alone, you will find over 20 golf courses within a 45-minute drive of downtown Pattaya, all of which have competitive pricing and are extremely well maintained. Pattaya is still somewhat an enigma on the world golf holiday scene, but it won't remain a best kept secret for too long, that's for sure.

Phunaka Golf Course in Phuket

Phunaka Golf Course in Phuket

The Phunaka Golf Course is one of Phuket's more unique courses, due in large part to one particular feature: floodlights. Yes, at Phunaka Golf Course all nine holes can be lit up at night, allowing for nighttime golf. The experience is a blast, and definitely a highlight of any golfing vacation on Phuket.
As far as the course itself goes, at just nine holes it is smaller than most other courses on Phuket, but that is ok; sometimes one only has time or desire for nine holes. The course is designed by John Morrow, and although it is more suitable for beginners than some other courses on Phuket, even experienced players will find difficult holes that test their skills. The nine holes include mostly par 3s, plus a short and a medium par 4 and a real par 5. The par 5 hole is a fun break from the many par 3s and gives players a chance to really demonstrate their power.
The course also features plenty of on-site amenities, including a driving range and a golf academy, perfect for getting a little brush up before hitting the links.
At Phuketgolf.net we have the best green fee prices and golf packages available. We can not only organize your green fees and tee-off time, but also all your golf and airport transfers. We can even find you the best hotel and holiday rental deals for your accommodation requirements.

Mission Hills Golf Course in Phuket

Mission Hills Golf Course in Phuket

For such a holiday island, Phuket is approximately the same size as Singapore but offers way more in terms of golf courses. We have a wide selection of golf courses in Phuket to serve every level of golfer, from the professional to the beginner and more.
Phuket Mission Hills Golf Course is yet another amazing course situated on the southern Thai island of Phuket. The course takes full advantage of the surrounding natural beauty, offering players an experience they won't soon forget. The course is full of mangrove trees, contributing to the paradise atmosphere, and features several ocean holes. Almost every hole offers incredible views looking out over the blue sea.
The course is a full 18 holes and was designed by none other than Jack Nicklaus himself. Highlights include a par 5 second hole, complete with an island green. Other holes are similarly challenging. In general the course rewards strong drives and but is not too punishing of wayward shots on certain holes. Still, experienced players will find Phuket Mission Hills Golf Course to be a challenge and require them to be at their very best.
Players should be aware that cart rentals are compulsory here on the island. The clubhouse and restaurant are both quite nice, and the service is excellent. Players can enjoy a light meal or a cold drink after their round, or can opt to order something while on the course and it will be delivered to you right there.
At Phuketgolf.net we have the best rates for all the island's best courses. Why not try out the majestic Mission Hills and walk in the footsteps of the great Jack Nicklaus.

Championship Golf in Pattaya

Championship Golf in Pattaya

For all intents and purposes, Pattaya should be the number one golfing location in South-East-Asia with so much choice in regards to pricing, quality and diversity. From meticulously pruned championship courses to local municipal style courses, Pattaya has them all and everything in between. As an avid golfer, I have played the majority of courses in the region, so let me give you a rundown on the best championship golf courses in Pattaya.
Championship Golf
Although Championship style courses are mainly quite difficult for those of us who consider ourselves as rank amateurs, there is nothing better than challenging yourself and playing a course fit for professionals. Pattaya has a nice collection of what I define as Championship Courses. The Siam Country Club, situated just a 15-minute drive from downtown Pattaya has two Championship courses  The Plantation, and The Old Course. The Plantation is a 27-hole course built in 2008 and designed by the Arizona-based renowned designers, Schmidt & Curley Design Inc. Taking its name from the surrounding Sugar Cane, Tapioca, and Pineapple plantations, which are also the individual names of each 9 holes. The Plantation is a fascinating mix of lofty tee-offs, stunningly maintained fairways and greens and a colossal amount of sand traps. Weave your way through this gem of a course and make sure you are hitting the ball well.
The Old Course, on the other hand, was first built in 1972, but enjoyed some renovation work in 2006. During 2007, the course hosted the Honda LPGA Thailand, which shows you the high standards we are talking about. The Old Course is more of a traditional course, much flatter than The Plantation and much more user-friendly. Don't let this become a false dawn, because the 18 holes are also quite challenging ? as you would expect from a Championship course.
My favorite Championship course in and around Pattaya is the Laem Chabang International Country Club. Its breathtaking scenery is something else, and the fact that it was designed by golf messiah, Jack Nicklaus, makes it even more desirable for golfers. Situated a 25-minute drive outside Pattaya at the neighboring Laem Chabang, this is a must-play course when visiting the region ? it's like going to Egypt and forgetting to view the Giza Plateau, completely sacrilegious! This lush and exotic course comprises three sets of 9 holes – named the Mountain 9, Lake 9, and the Valley 9. Each set is roughly 3,500 yards in length and a test for any golfer, although in my opinion, much more forgiving that the Siam Country Club Plantation Course. Each hole has its own name and the aesthetics of each is akin to a work of art seamlessly sculptured into natural surroundings. Not only is the course a sight for sore eyes, but the clubhouse and facilities are five-star by anyone's imagination. Another great feature of Laem Chabang is that it's the only golf course in the region that offers night golf, as the course is fully floodlit, which is perfect if the temperatures are too hot for you to handle.

Book a Round of Golf at Phuket Country Club

Book a Round of Golf at Phuket Country Club

Phuket is a great place for golf lovers with a wide choice of courses of all standards, styles and prices. Although you have championship courses such as Blue Canyon and Red Mountain, courses such as the Phuket Country Club provide that much needed alternative for players who enjoy wide fairways and forgiving green speeds.
Situated in the heart of Kathu, the Country Club is probably the most popular and definitely the best value for money course on the island. This 18-hole course is a favorite for local expats and tourists because of its quality and affordable green fees.
The Old Course ?
This picturesque 18-hole golf course is set over an area of 6,483 yards with a par of 72. The course layout has a mixture tree-lined fairways and woodlands, and a smattering of water hazards. I always enjoy playing this course more than any other because it suits my high-handicap (15) game, and all the staff and caddies are very friendly. Generally speaking, the course is quite flat, but you will counter some undulations and elevated tee positions.
The signature hole has got to be the 10th, which has wrecked some scorecards over the years ? mine included. This 557 yard par-5 wraps around the entirety of the centerpiece lake. As the bird flies, a big hitter can actually drive the green in one, which is amazing for a par five. Unfortunately, mere mortals have to try and circumnavigate the hole by straddling the lake-lined fairways.
Facilities
The facilities at the Phuket Country Club are very good. Alongside an excellent restaurant and communal swimming pool, there are lots of changing options, practice greens and a driving range.

With beautiful beaches across the west coast of the island, with some of the best being Nai Harn, Nai Yang, Layan and Bang Tao. Phuket is home to exciting nightlife, especially in Patong, Karon and Kata, where you will find an amazing choice of beer bars, international restaurants and theme shows such as Phuket Fantasea and Simon Cabaret.
If you are thinking of merging a family holiday with rounds of golf, you can rest assured that there are plenty of things to see and do on the island when you are not playing golf.
Best Golf Destination
Over the past 5 years we have seen Phuket become one of the best golf holiday destinations in the world. Why choose to play golf in Pattaya?

Why choose to play golf in Pattaya?

Pattaya was one of the very first commercial holiday destinations in Thailand, known for its vibrancy and a nightlife scene unrivalled anywhere else in Asia. What some people don't know is that Pattaya is also the premier golf holiday destination in Southeast Asia, merging the best aspects of a popular tourist destination with some of the finest and best value for money golf courses. So, why choose to play golf in Pattaya?
So many courses
Within a 45-minute drive of downtown Pattaya, there are 22 golf courses, making this the highest concentration of golf clubs anywhere on the continent. Some of the most excellent courses in Thailand make Pattaya their home, such as The Old Course and the Plantation Course at Siam Country Club, Laem Chabang International Country Club, Phoenix GC, St. Andrews 2000 and many more. Not only are there great courses here, but the green fees are also very competitive, which provides the avid golfer with amazing value.
Lots to see and do
Pattaya is the ideal place to enjoy a Thailand holiday experience as the nation's most visited and popular beachside destination. The city is known for its hedonistic nightlife and party scene, however, in the surrounding regions there are a vast choice of things to see and do whether you are a group of friends on a golfing holiday or on a family vacation with some golf in between. From the exotic nightlife delights of Walking Street, to the more laidback atmosphere at Jomtien Beach or Pratumnak Hill, Pattaya is much more than just a party town.
Convenience
One of the best things about Pattaya is its total convenience. Under a 2-hour drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Pattaya is one of the easiest beachside destinations in Thailand to visit. In Pattaya you will be within close proximity to thousands of quality international restaurants, world class shopping malls, 5-star hotels and a wide choice of beaches? and let's not forget the amazing golf options.
All in all, a Pattaya golf holiday is something very special with lots of things to see and do when you are not on the course. Bring the family or your best golfing buddies and try out some of the best golf courses in Asia with Pattayagolf.net

Dealing with Caddies when playing Phuket Golf

Dealing with Caddies when playing Phuket Golf

One of the great things that separate golf in Thailand to golf in Europe is the services and hospitality on offer. In England, I would grab my clubs, pay my green fees and just get out there by myself against Mother Nature's sculptured back garden. As is the nature of Asian hospitality, caddies are an instrumental part of the functioning of a golf course in these parts. I can feel that you have some questions about caddies in Phuket? well, let me please indulge you!
Why do I need a caddy when playing in Phuket?
It's not really a case of Why, but more of a case that caddies are compulsory on Phuket golf courses. But let's be honest, it's very hot out here and you are on holiday. Do you really want to drag your own clubs around for 18 holes? Caddies will deal with the less-important facets of playing golf, allowing you to concentrate on your game and making that perfect birdie putt.
What duties does the caddy perform?
The vast majority of Phuket caddies are females. They do a fantastic job of ensuring golfers flow around the course without so much slow play. They will take care of your bag from the moment you arrive at the course until the moment you leave. You don't even have to think about it. They will constantly keep an eye on where your ball lands, advise you of bunkers, OBs and water hazards. Some of the best caddies will give you perfect advice on the right putting lines and your shot yardages. All in all, they do everything aside from hitting the ball?. that's your job!
How much do I tip my caddy?
How much to tip a caddy is a frequently asked question. The standard rates for tipping are usually between 200 ? 500 THB, with 300 THB being the average. My advice would be to tip on performance, although you should always tip something because it's a long way around an 18-hole golf course carrying a set of clubs. If your caddie does a great job of advising you in regards of the correct distances and putting lines, then tip her appropriately. I generally tip 500 THB if a caddy has a happy and positive attitude that makes my experience even more enjoyable.

Top Phuket Golfing Hotspots – Part 2

Top Phuket Golfing Hotspots – Part 2

Golf lovers will find Phuket a veritable golfing paradise. With some of the best golf courses and facilities at your disposal, fans of one of the oldest sports on the planet will think they've died and gone to heaven. Last time out we informed you about the best value-for-money Phuket golfing hotspots. Today we are going to focus on two of the island's best championship courses.

Blue Canyon Country Club
The Canyon Course at the Blue Canyon Country Club is so famous that the popular EA Sports computer game, Tiger Woods Golf, used it as one of their courses. Besides the 18-hole Canyon Course, there is also the 18-hole Lakes Course as well. Both courses have majestically grown into their surroundings over time and matured like a fine wine. The club is situated within a sand iron of Phuket International Airport in the north of the island.
- Canyon Course
Surrounded by freshwater lakes and in harmony with the earth, the Canyon Course brilliantly features natural hazards, towering trees, rolling fairways, long carries, narrow landing areas and well-guarded slick Bermuda Tiffdwarf greens. As its name (Canyon) suggests, the holes are built along canyon edges with undulating fairways and greens. The course has hosted numerous Asian tour events over the years, with the Johnnie Walker Classic as its most famous event, showcasing the skills of famous golfers such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and Freddie Couples. Hole 17, the longest par-3 in Thailand, and awarded “Top 500 Best Holes in the World”, is a quiet beauty that seldom yields to a golfer’s game, but occasionally allows for a hole-in-one. This is one of Asia's finest courses and a must play for golfing fanatics.

- Lakes Course
Established in 1999, the Lakes Course has water hazards coming into play on 17 out of 18 holes. The course is a mixture of water-filled canyons created by open cast mining with its natural land flow left relatively unchanged. Its front 9 holes run through a landscape of lakes and original canyons, whilst the back 9 weaves around more scenic lakes and soft whispering woodlands of rubber trees. Although not as challenging as the Canyon Course, the Lakes is still top notch, and any golfer worth their salt will attribute to that.

Top Phuket Golfing Hotspots – Part 1

Top Phuket Golfing Hotspots – Part 1

Golf lovers will find Phuket a veritable golfing paradise. With some of the best golf courses and facilities at your disposal, fans of one of the oldest sports on the planet will think they've died and gone to heaven. The first part of this article is devoted to the best value for money courses on the island.
Phuket Country Club
Easily one of the island's friendliest and value for money golf clubs, Phuket Country Club, situated in Kathu. The Old Course provides a strenuous 18-hole, 6483 yards, par 72 game of golf. With forgiving fairways and reasonable green speeds, this is a golf course more aimed towards those of all abilities.
Laguna Phuket Golf Club
Laguna Phuket is the island’s only resort-based 18-hole, par 71 golf course. Designed by Max Wexler and David Abell, measuring 6,654 yards from the back tees and 5,464 yards from the forward tees, the award winning Laguna Phuket Golf Club features a wealth of tropical scenic lagoons and undulating fairways set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and the nearby ocean. Situated at the exclusive Laguna Resort, this is one of the island's classiest courses. Please remember that at the moment the course is being renovated.
Mission Hills Golf Club
Situated on the northeastern coast of the island within close proximity to Phuket International Airport, this fabulous 18-hole, 72-par course is over 6,000 yards long. Designed by golfing demigod, Jack Nicklaus, the course is ideal for those of all abilities. Although the course is fairly flat, the main obstacles to overcome are bunkers, which you will find at every turn.
Phunaka Golf Course & Academy
A highlight of any visit to the idyllic island of Phuket is a round at the Phunaka Golf Course & Golf Academy at Chalong. This exceptional floodlit 9-hole golf course, complete with driving range and golf academy, presents challenges and rewards players of all levels. The location is simply stunning and the course is Phuket's newest edition. Phunaka is not only the island's newest course but also its first and only floodlit course. If that is not a reason to play at the club, I don't know what is!

Business as usual in Phuket

Business as usual in Phuket

With so much being written in the local and international media regarding the political unrest in Bangkok, it's probably the right thing to do to inform visitors to Phuket, and other tourist destinations across the region, that life and business is still rolling on as usual. The troubles are restricted to certain parts of the capital, while other coastal holiday towns haven't, and probably won't see any of the problems that we see in Bangkok right now.
Regardless of political opinions and reasons, right or wrong, if you stroll down Patong Beach today or Walking Street in Pattaya, you wouldn't know the difference in any way, shape or form. It's important to reassure travelers of these truths, while at the same time understanding that the travel warnings that have been issued by so many embassies across the world are more focused on Bangkok than anywhere else.
Phuket is still one of the golf tour capitals of Asia, and nothing will change the fact that we have some of the finest golf courses imaginable,
Please take care if you are in Bangkok, but remember that all the other major tourist destinations in Thailand are the same as ever before.

Winter Golf in a Sunshine Paradise

Winter Golf in a Sunshine Paradise

It's that time of the year folks in the western world where the dark and cold submerges the European continent and North America for the best part of 5 months. It can be a depressing time waking up in the dark in the morning, going to work, and then coming back home in the dark once again. Its the sort of thing that makes you question reality as we know it.
Although golf is a game that can be played in most weather conditions, we prefer the warmth to the cold. The ball travels further, you are more at one with nature and overall you are more comfortable when playing the game in warmer climates. Break the monotony with a winter break in the sunshine paradise of Phuket and remember what it's like to play golf in the sun.
Golf in the winter
Wearing 2 shirts, a jumper, a wind-breaker, trousers, 2 pairs of socks, gloves, scarf and a wooly hat is hardly the perfect kit for golf. In fact, the Tin-man from the Wizard of Oz has more maneuverability, even with his dodgy brain. How about winter greens, sludgy fairways and plastic covered tees? It's not a very enduring image, is it? There are not many saving graces to playing golf in the winter. For sure, it's nice to get out and about, but it's not the same as the summer. How are you expected to hold a 5-foot putt for par when you can't even feel the ends of your fingers and toes? And let's not even talk about your extremities!
Phuket golf in the sunshine
With an all-year-round temperature that doesn't very often drop below 30 degrees, we don't have the cold in Phuket. All we have is hot and slightly hotter. Imagine breaking off the ice and thawing yourself out with a Phuket golf holiday? No aches and pains, no fogs or mist and defiantly no winter greens to contend with.
When it's winter in the western world, it's summertime in Thailand. Indeed, from November to April are the prime holiday periods in Phuket. You only live once, book your ticket right away and migrate to warmer climates. Birds have been migrating to the warmth since the dawn of civilization for good reason. Even something as tough as a grizzly bear hibernates in the winter.
Phuket has some of the best golf courses in Asia, with Championship courses such as Blue Canyon Country Club and Red Mountain Golf Club. The tropical delights of Loch Palm or Phuket Country Club are a sight for the sore eyes for the winter traveler.

3 things to do when not golfing in Phuket

3 things to do when not golfing in Phuket

Many of our customers who come to Phuket to play golf have also come to the island for a holiday getaway. They mix rounds on the best golf courses in Phuket with a week or two relaxing on the island. So, apart from a world-class golf destination, what makes Phuket stand out as one of the most popular holiday destinations in Asia?
Beaches
Phuket is famous for its beaches, especially down the west coast nestled next to the Andaman Ocean. Probably the most visited stretch of sand is Patong Beach, largely due to being Phuket's number one beachside destination. Other large beaches to the south include Karon and Kata, which are both very beautiful and much less crowded than Patong. Nai Harn Beach in the deep-south of Phuket has long been known as one of the best beaches in Phuket. However, if you are staying in the north of the island, the best beaches are Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao and Layan.
Nightlife
Bangkok and Pattaya aside, Phuket has some of the best nightlife options in Thailand. Bangla Road in Patong is the epicenter of the Phuket entertainment scene with beer bars, go-go bars, nightclubs and discotheques at every turn. Karon and Kata also have thriving nightlife scenes, although less hectic than Patong. Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao, Nai Harn, Chalong and Rawai are a little more laidback in terms of nightlife, however, you will still find a great selection of locally owned bars and beach clubs in all those destinations.
Restaurants
Although Thai food simply must be tried when on holiday in Phuket, the island is home to hundreds of international restaurants serving cuisine from the four corners of the globe. Every holiday destination on the west coast has at least a handful of international restaurants, so you will never be short on options. Phuket even has some quality fine dining restaurants such as the 9th Floor and White Box in Patong and The Boathouse in Kata.

Why Visiting Phuket for a Golf Holiday is a Must

Why Visiting Phuket for a Golf Holiday is a Must

Phuket has long been known as one of the most visited tropical island holiday destinations over the past decade or more. There is a love affair between the country and the visitors to Thailand in general. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) statistics show that more than one in three visitors returns to the country for another holiday. If you love golf and love beautiful tropical locations basking in sunshine, let us tell you why you must visit Phuket for a golf holiday.
World Class Golf Services
When it comes to golf in Thailand, not many regions do it like Phuket Island. There is only Pattaya that has a higher concentration of quality golf courses in Thailand. From the heady heights of Championship courses such as Blue Canyon and Red Mountain to the mid-range yet high quality courses at Laguna, Phuket Country Club, Loch Palm and Mission Hills, Phuket has it all in regards to golfing options.
Not only are the courses built and maintained to world class standards, but also the clubhouses, practice facilities, onsite staff and caddies help to make Phuket a truly 5-star world golf location.
Premier Holiday Destination
For sure, when organizing a golfing holiday you can go to certain places in America, Mission Hills in China or visit the old links courses in Scotland, but in all honesty, they don't have the reputation of a truly luxurious beachside holiday destination such as Phuket.
A golfing holiday is more than just golf, you know that. You can't play golf 24-hours per day, even if you would like to!
The perfect golf holiday merges playing the beautiful game with visiting somewhere that has great beaches, a sun-drenched climate, nightlife options and great restaurants. Phuket has all these things in abundance.
When not playing golf, you could laze away a few hours on the picture-postcard beaches that Phuket is famous for. Experience the hedonistic nightlife options in Patong, or dine at one of the thousands of international beachside restaurants on the island.
What it comes down to is that Phuket is the quintessential holiday location, and when coupled with the experience of playing its world-class golf courses, it's hard to find a better place for a golf holiday anywhere else in the world.
