Beaches
Phuket is famous for its beaches, especially down the west coast nestled next to the Andaman Ocean. Probably the most visited stretch of sand is Patong Beach, largely due to being Phuket's number one beachside destination. Other large beaches to the south include Karon and Kata, which are both very beautiful and much less crowded than Patong. Nai Harn Beach in the deep-south of Phuket has long been known as one of the best beaches in Phuket. However, if you are staying in the north of the island, the best beaches are Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao and Layan.

Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao, Nai Harn, Chalong and Rawai are a little more laidback in terms of nightlife, however, you will still find a great selection of locally owned bars and beach clubs in all those destinations.
